Exercise protocols for your body type

The three main body types or somatotypesWe have all been assigned a specific body type at birth courtesy of our genetics.

There are 3 main body types (somatotypes):

* Ectomorph (think of Twiggy)
* Mesomorph (think of Madonna)
* Endomorph (think of Beyonce).

Although most of us will show the predominant traits of one body type over another we mustn’t forget that we are a combination of all three body types and most likely we fall somewhere in between two of the main somatotypes.

Identifying our predominant body type can be very useful when choosing or adapting a weight loss and fitness program to our needs.
